DESCRIPTION: The annual WHSA Conference provides training for a diverse audience of Head Start and Early Head Start program directors, parents, staff, managers, and community partners on innovative practical initiatives, programs, and applied research in a variety of content areas.  Featured luncheon speakers are Director of the Office of Head Start Yvette Sanchez Fuentes who will provide a video welcome and opening remarks on February 14; “The Champion of Childhood” Jason Kotecki, a speaker, entertainer, author, and comic strip creator who will provide the “Escape Adulthood: Living and Working with Less Stress and More Fun” keynote address on Monday February 14; and, Fight Crime: Invest in Kids who will provide a keynote address on Tuesday, February 15.

HOTEL ROOM RESERVATIONS: Guest rooms at the Kalahari can be reserved by calling the hotel directly at 877-253-5466.  When calling, please reference the “WHSA Meeting 2011” block to receive the group rate [$70/single occupancy or$119/double or triple occupancy (a deposit of the first night plus tax is due at the time the reservation is made)].  To assure availability, please make reservation on or before the Friday, January 14 cut-off date.  The Kalahari will honor group rates after the cut-off deadline has passed as long as guest rooms are available.
