The Office of Child Care (OCC) has released a draft of the FY 2012-2013 Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) plan for public comment. States, territories, and others may comment on the proposed plan until Tuesday, November 23, 2010.
OCC reorganized the CCDF plan to increase usability and transparency. Health, safety, and quality improvement have each been given greater attention in the plan. A revised quality section focuses on four parts: 1) health and safety, 2) early learning guidelines, 3) program quality improvement activities, and 4) professional development systems and workforce initiatives. In the draft, states are directed to conduct a self-assessment, set goals for the upcoming biennium, and report on quality.
