DESCRIPTION:
WHSA invites Director, Parent, and Staff Affiliate representatives as well as Education, Disabilities, and Mental Health Managers to join us at the WHSA Fall Quarterly meeting.  Affiliates will meet to network, exchange ideas, and discuss business.  Education, Disabilities, and Mental Health Manager will attend “Fulfilling the Head Start Mandate by Supporting Young Language Learners in Their Home Language and in English,” a professional development training presented by Ruth Reinl, M.S.E., and will meet for facilitated networking.
At the 24th Annual Achieving Excellence Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, October 20 from noon to 1:30 p.m., WHSA will honor and celebrate the contributions of our outstanding community partners–those individuals and organizations who benefit our Head Start & Early Head Start communities at the local, state, or national levels–and recognize the recipients of the 2010 WHSA Staff Affiliate and WHSA Parent Affiliate “Positive Opportunities for Parents” (POP) scholarships.  These scholarships are awarded to program parents and staff members to acknowledge their exceptional involvement in Head Start and their communities and to support their continuing education and help them pursing their goals.
