2022-23 Community of Practice:

WHSA Communities of Practice (CoPs) are groups comprised of individuals with similar roles with the goal of solving common problems and developing best practices. Participating individuals engage in joint activities and discussions, help each other, and contribute information. They share concern and passion for what they do and pool their experiences to build a repertoire of resources, stories and tools. Each CoP will meet a minimum of four times, with the possibility of additional sessions if the group so chooses.

Event Description: The Community of Practice gathering will consist of three days over which all CoPs will hold their meetings. These event will include a Keynote with expertise and guidance about how to advance a successful CoP.

Fees:

Single CoP Event Only: $90 (allows entrance of a single participant to a single CoP gathering and Keynote only)

Subscription rate: $230/single year subscription(allow a single participant to enter any CoP meeting throughout the season and admittance to all CoP speakers and special presentations)

April 1-13, 2023

Communities of Practice meeting during the 2022-23 WHSA Training Season: Health, Mental Health, Home Visiting, ERSEA, Inclusion & Disabilities, Family Services, Education Managers & Specialists, Data Management, Transportation and Coaches. CoP registrants are encouraged to participate in as many communities as they would like!

Keynote Topic: Leadership

Charisse Johnson is mother/Stepmother of 7, former chair of her local Head Start Policy Council, former President of the Wisconsin Head Start Association Parent Affiliate, Former Vice President of the Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Mental Health Board, and Former member of the Governor’s Early Childhood Advisory Council. She is currently a Family Engagement Specialist at the Northside Early Childhood Zone in Madison. She has a passion and personal and professional commitment to family engagement. Charisse understands that empowered families and parent leadership are essential to healthy children and communities.
