Monday Keynote Address:

Dr. Donna Beegle-Communicating and Relating More Effectively Across Poverty Barriers

Former Head Start parent, Dr. Donna Beegle inspires and educates individuals, organizations, politicians and entire communities with proven models to better outcomes for people in poverty. Born into a migrant labor family and married at 15, Dr. Beegle is the only member of her family who has not been incarcerated. By age 25, she earned her GED and then, within 10 years, received her doctorate in Educational Leadership. She is an authentic voice from poverty that speaks, writes and trains across the nation to break the iron cage of poverty for others through services provided by her company, Communication Across Barriers (CAB).

Tuesday Keynote Address: 

Kobe Campbell: Calming to Connect

Kobe Campbell is an award-winning licensed trauma therapist, counselor, writer and speaker. Kobe received her B.A in Psychology from UNCW and a M.A in Counseling from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. With a kind, compassionate, and energetic spirit, she helps people find the truest versions of themselves under the pain that they’ve endured through therapy, speaking, retreats, organizational trainings, and spiritual formation.

Wednesday Keynote Address:

Dr. Barbara Straud: Supporting Social-Emotional Needs and Enhancing Emotional Communication

Barbara Stroud, PhD, is a licensed psychologist with over three decades worth of culturally informed clinical practice in early childhood development and mental health. She is a founding organizer and the inaugural president (2017-2019) of the California Association for Infant Mental Health, a member of the Academy of ZERO TO THREE Fellows, and holds prestigious endorsements as an Infant and Family Mental Health Specialist/Reflective Practice Facilitator Mentor.

Workshops

Topics including but not limited to curriculum design, the power of play, fatherhood, dual language, inclusion, parenting, mentoring, data, community partnerships, teaching, administration, staff wellness, mental well-being, program management.
