Both parents and practitioners who work with families will be interested in the latest “Teaching Your Child to . . .” resource from the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations of Early Learning (CSEFEl) at Vanderbilt University–Teaching Your Child to: Become Independent with Daily Routines.
Readers will learn how to teach young children do simple, daily self-care activities by first learning what activities children may be expected to do at certain ages and how to break down activities into steps. The resource will also answer questions like “why do children sometimes becomec challenging when learning to do self-help skills on their own?” and “what can you do when children refuse to independently do daily routines?”
More “Teaching Your Child to . . .” and related resources are also available on CSEFEL’s resources for families page.
