The National Child Care Information and Technical Assistance Center (NCCIC), a service of the Child Care Bureau at the Administration for Children and Families, has released the full Child Care Development Fund Report of State and Territory Plans FY 2010-11. CCDF is the primary federal program for improving childcare services and quality through about $5 billion in block grants to states, territories, and Tribes to subsidize the cost of childcare for low-income working families. Each state, territory, or Tribe applying for CCDF monies must submit a biennial plan of CCDF activities and strategies as part of the application process. The Report includes a data summary of CCDF plans and individual profiles for state and territories.
For a more brief profile of childcare in Wisconsin, see the state’s profile page on the NCCIC website. You’ll find state figures related to demographics, early childhood education program funding and participation, and licensing requirements.
