DESCRIPTION: The OHS Institute will provide current and emerging Head Start/Early Head Start staff and parent leaders with opportunities for leadership development through the promotion of effective strategies for achieving school readiness and continuous improvement.  Programs are encouraged to select a team of staff/parent leaders who, after the Institute, will be prepared to lead the way for 2011 and beyond.  Participants will: focus on practical strategies for leadership in the context of Head Start systems and services; develop individual and program leadership skills, expand their knowledge on mentoring future leaders and succession planning; and, gain strategies for knowledge sharing in their own programs and communities.
