The National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorder (or, NPDC on ASD), a multi-university center to promote the use of evidence-based practice for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders, has identified 24 evidence-based practices for working effectively with individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
NPDC on ASD is in the process of developing free online modules for evidenced-based practices to support individuals with ASD and the modules will soon be available through the Autism Internet Modules website. In the meantime, an evidence-based practice (EPB) brief has been developed for each of the 24 identified evidence-based practices. Each brief includes the following core components: an overview of the practice, step-by-step directions for implementation, an implementation checklist, and the evidence base for the practices. Some of EBP briefs also include supplementary materials like data collection sheets.
