The Office of Head Start (OHS) has released a new half-hour webcast on its revised Head Start Child Outcomes Framework, now called the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework. The webcast is aimed at Head Start staff, parents, and members of the early childhood community and will put the Framework in context by providing:
- An overview of the revisions to the Framework including what is new and what has been retained.
- Descriptions of the three new domains (logic and reasoning, social studies knowledge and skills, and English language development) and the rationale for their inclusion.
- An understanding of the relationship of the Framework to program operations, program planning, and quality improvement.
- An explanation as to how the revised Framework brings additional focus to school readiness for preschool children.
In the webcast, a panel of Head Start staff and representatives from OHS discuss the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework which will guide all programs serving children aged 3 to 5 on the key elements of school readiness.
