On April 8, Senators Chris Dodd (D-CT) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) distributed a “Dear Colleague” Letter asking fellow Senators to sign-on to the letter requesting a $1 billion increase for Head Start and Early Head Start and a $1 billion increase for the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG) in fiscal year 2011.
At its April 13 meeting, the Wisconsin Head Start Association (WHSA) Board of Directors endorsed action to support the Snowe-Dodd letter, calling upon Wisconsin Senators Kohl and Feingold to sign-on for increased appropriations of $1 billion each for Head Start/Early Head Start and childcare.
