President Obama’s budget request for fiscal year 2011, the first step in the annual appropriations process, was released on February 2, 2010.
The President’s budget prioritizes early childhood education and care programs and supports for young children and their families. The request includes the extension of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) funding for Head Start and Early Head Start expansion and increased funding to childcare in the Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) and Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG).
