UW Oshkosh Head Start is a federally funded, preschool program for low-income families. We have the opportunity to work with 500 children and families every school year. We have nine centers in seven different cities throughout Winnebago, Calumet, Outagamie and Shawano Counties.

Head Start provides comprehensive education, family support and health services to assist the whole child and family in school readiness. Do you enjoy working with 3-5 year old children? UW Oshkosh Head Start will be conducting interviews for the 2018-2019 school year with the opportunity to begin NOW!

Teacher Assistants are hired to work 35-40 hours per week. Teacher Assistants work collaboratively with a teacher to develop skills and practices to support school readiness for each child and to support our comprehensive services offered to each child and family. Contracts are from September to June, with 15 additional work days in August to prepare for the upcoming school year! Classroom sizes are 17-20 children with a full-time teacher, full-time teacher assistant and part-time center aide. Our program embraces the High/Scope curriculum, offers many professional development opportunities, and implements Pyramid Model and Conscious Discipline programs to support social/emotional development.

We offer a competitive salary and great benefits (including health, life, dental, sick pay and holidays, etc) package. We are off for one week during holidays and one week of Spring Break (usually same week as your sites' school district spring break).

Additional Info:
