Qualifications:

Passion for the mission, values, and work of Acelero Learning, making a difference in the lives of society’s most vulnerable and underserved members
Bachelor's degree required, ideally in business or education; Master’s degree is strongly desired
At least five years in a management position, including experience in program oversight, fiscal management, facilities management, and administration, preferably within a multi-site operation and in a field related to early child care, education, or families
Head Start experience, or the ability to quickly understand the Head Start philosophy and model, is required
Significant staff management experience, managing teams of at least 8 people
Demonstrated experience in a change management environment requiring leadership in defining process and establishing relationships, both internal and external
Demonstrated experience in program planning, operations, and evaluation, and the use of management information systems

Creative problem-solver with the ability to use data and sound judgment to drive decision-making
High degree of emotional intelligence and comfort providing and receiving open, honest feedback dealing with substantive issues
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work as part of a highly-collaborative team within the organization and build positive rapport with key community groups and constituents
Sensitivity to issues that impact families in a highly diverse yet segregated urban environment
Demonstrated commitment to developing diversity within the organization
Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation with state-mandated minimum insurance coverage(s) on your vehicle
Pass physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen
Advanced computer proficiency in email, word processing and internet navigation


Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly dynamic and facilitative leader to serve as Wisconsin Executive Director. The Executive Director will be responsible for coordinating and directing all program and administrative services for this Head Start program, including: supervision and management of all leadership team roles; overall supervision and guidance of all program operations; and ensuring full compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards and regulations. Charged with providing the program with vision and leadership, the Executive Director will take a thoughtful, proactive, and collaborative approach to ensure management functions are properly carried out. Reporting to the SVP, Head Start and Board of Directors, this is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader, with significant management experience at an educational/non-profit/community based/childcare-related organization, who is committed to creating positive change for the children and families of Milwaukee and Racine counties.

The Executive Director will be responsible for the following;

Oversee the day-to-day management, operations, and compliance for our Wisconsin Head Start program that serves over 1300 children from birth to five years old across 12 schools.
Manage, mentor, train, and develop staff, directly supervising an 8-member leadership team and indirectly supervise a team of 275 direct service staff.
Model behaviors that inspire strong performance and instill a sense of excellence in all staff.
Lead the administration and maintenance of facilities, materials, and equipment.
Prepare and implement the regional budget, striving to find efficiencies and room for revenue growth on a regular basis.
In close collaboration with senior leaders, participate in effective and efficient program planning and implementation.
Own the assessment of staff and program operations, exercising sound judgment and leveraging data to swiftly make decisions related to individual and site performance.
Serve as the external face of Acelero Learning in the local community, reflecting positively on the organization and advocating for its presence in Milwaukee and Racine counties.
Maintain a positive relationship with Wisconsin Board of Directors, Parent and Policy Committees, regional Executive Directors, and national support center staff, including serving on the national Head Start Leadership Team.
