The Center for Early Literacy Learning (CELL) has developed technical assistance tools for trainers on early literacy practices for young children birth to age six which offer a variety of methods, materials, and practices that can be used to conduct raining on early literacy. These new resources are available through CELL’s General Technical Assistance Tools for Trainers webpage.

The following types of CELL materials are available:

  • Presentations: PowerPoint presentations, training modules, and other materials to help technical assistance providers and trainers teach practitioners how to use CELL practices.
  • Videos: For teachers, trainers, parents, and coaches to introduce and illustrate a key component of the CELL Early Literacy Learning Model.
  • Tools: That aide practitioners in supporting families.  You’ll find resources like checklists, schedules, and tip sheets.
  • Practice Guides: Early childhood educators, child care providers, early interventionists, and other early childhood practitioners can use for promoting infants’, toddlers’, and preschoolers’ literacy learning using interest-based and highly engaging activities.
  • Webcasts: Audio/visual versions of parent practices guides.  Parents can use the webcasts to explore fun and exciting literacy learning experiences for children.

CELL is a research-to-practice technical assistance center funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs, Research to Practice Division.
